Description

Saxophone player Bob Feldman met Beat poet Jack Micheline in 1958, and twenty years later they became “Comrades in the Arts.” In this moving, funny essay, Feldman details his long friendship with a wild iconoclast. Feldman has collaborated with Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Bing Crosby, Allen Ginsberg, Francis Ford Coppola, and Sam Shepard. He has been a member of Richard Maxwell's New York City Players since 1996. His recording, Triplicity was cited by DownBeat Magazine as one of the best recordings of 2005. Feldman is working on a memoir to be published by TheWriteDeal in 2012. (Also read Bob Feldman's remarkable piece "Go to Hells Kitchen")
